Mom, Peter and I took a taxi to this pedestrian street in search of the Chinese Traditional Medicine Museum.

Thinking this was the museum, we tried to pay. They brushed us off and sent us in, but it was an apothecary shop. Many people sat drinking tea.

This lovely woman sat Mom down and started applying compresses sprayed with medicine.

She put one on my wrist, as well. She kept saying "only 10 minutes" and showed us the directions in English.

Seniors were coming in and handing her their compresses and velcro wraps. She would spray their medicine on them and apply it where they needed it.

It got very hot and eventually left a red round mark on our skin. Peter admired her pendant and she pulled another pendant out from beneath her counter and gave it to him. We remembered that you should not admire anything or the Chinese feel an obligation to give it to you! We reciprocated with a Mackinac pen which she seemed very pleased to receive.
