The Iron Pagoda is not iron, just wrapped in metallic-looking tiles that appear to be iron. The tower was bombed repeatedly by the Japanese in the 1930s, but survived.

The interior is filled with Buddha images.

We climbed the narrow winding stairway to the top.

It was so dark that we had to fire our camera flashes periodically to see where we were going!
