Xiang Guo Monastery |

"Leo" lecturing |
Avalokitesvara
Seeing the original statue of Avalokitesvara (Sanskrit for the Chinese Guon Yin or principal boddhisatva of compassion) was very special to Peter. Our guide "Leo" told the story of how an emperor's daughter volunteered her hands and eyes to cure his disease, and in return the Buddha compensated her with 1000 hands and eyes. |
