Even the graffiti on the trees was beautiful.

They were tearing down residences to build high-rises and "Summer," our local guide, told us that these people were refusing to leave.

The girls, Peter and I decided to take a taxi back to the hotel and leave the group. (Mom stayed and visited a silk factory.) "Summer" jumped into traffic (much busier than this picture shows!) and yelled at us to follow him. We were stranded amidst buses, cars, motorcycles and bikes...very dangerous situation! Our guide Mark came flying across the street shouting at "Summer." "You psycho! These people have made it for 14 days. I want them to live to the 15th day!!" ha!

This is how close taxi drivers come to other vehicles. Mom decided to stay in the bus...she couldn't stomach another ride in a cab!

There was lots of construction around our hotel and our driver went into the wrong entrance. This guy just screamed at him to go back the other way!

Our last night we went to the top of the Hyatt for a drink with the girls and Bob. It was beautiful. No photos of that night, but this is one of the skylines.

Leaving Shanghai for the airport

We could choose between riding in our bus for 45 minutes or taking the new Magnetic Levitation train (Maglev) to the airport. It covered the same ground in 8 minutes! Great fun!
